The significance of celebrating Hanuman Jayanti.
Hanuman Jayanti is an important festival for Hindus. It is said that Lord Hanuman was born in the house of Kesari, the king of Vanaras, and his wife Anjana, who was considered an Apsara. Hanuman's parents affectionately called him Anjaneya and Kesari Nandan. It is believed that Hanuman had the power to assume any form at will, was capable of lifting rocks and mountains easily, and could reach anywhere instantly with his immense speed. In the Indian epic "Ramayana," Hanuman is one of the exemplary heroes.

The son of the wind god, Lord Hanuman, is such a deity among all the gods and goddesses who was present on Earth in his physical form in Kaliyuga and was always ready to assist his devoted followers. Items required for worship on Hanuman Jayanti-
Kalash, Sacred Thread (Janeu), Jasmine oil, Red cloth or red loincloth, Yellow vermilion, Red flowers, Perfume, Ghee, Panchamrit, Coconut, Sandalwood paste, Ganga water, Incense, Agarbatti (incense sticks), Lamp, Tulsi leaves, Fruits, Sweets, Motichoor Laddu, Betel leaves, Worship pedestal and Unbroken rice (Akshat), Halwa Poori Roti, etc.
The worship method of Lord Hanuman-
  • Before going to sleep on the ground the night before the fast, one should remember Lord Shri Ram, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman
  • Wake up early in the morning and remember Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman
  • After waking up early, take a bath and meditate
  • Take a vow of the fast by holding Ganga water in your hand
  • Thereafter, establish the idol of Lord Hanuman
  • Apply a tilak on the idol by mixing jasmine oil with red or yellow vermilion and then offer a garland of marigold flowers or red flowers to the idol of Lord Hanuman
  • Light a lamp with ghee or jasmine oil and remember Lord Shri Ram, Goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman
  • Offer laddoos to Lord Hanuman as an offering
  • On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, one must recite the Hanuman Chalisa and Sundar Kand
  • The worship should be concluded with Aarti
  • Afterwards, bow down to the feet of Lord Hanuman and pray to the mighty Lord Hanuman with folded hands
  • Worship Lord Hanuman with all rituals and reverence

The scriptures state that those who worship Lord Hanuman are not troubled by Lord Shani and are also protected from the adverse effects of Shani's Mahadasha. The day of Hanuman Jayanti is considered very special for avoiding Shani Dosha. If someone is suffering from Shani's Sade Sati, Dhaiya, or Shani Dosha, then following the remedies suggested on Hanuman Jayanti will benefit you from the Mahadasha of Shani, such as- Keep a fast on the day of Hanuman Jayanti and wear red clothes to visit the Hanuman temple. Light a lamp with jasmine oil and recite the Hanuman Chalisa 11 times and read the Sundar Kand.

The mythological story related to the birth of Lord Hanuman-
According to our mythological stories, Anjana used to be an Apsara who was born on Earth. The curse placed on her could only be lifted when she gave birth to a child. According to the Valmiki Ramayana, Maharaj Kesari was the father of Lord Hanuman. He was the king of Sumeru and Kesari was the son of Brihaspativar (Jupiter). After 12 years of severe penance to Lord Shiva for a child, Anjana was blessed with Hanuman, who is said to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva himself.
